A healthy diet contains a lot of  vegetables, fruits ,nuts and liquids, in the correct proportions. If you want to stay healthy make the vitamin, calcium, iron ,etc enriched foods a part of your lifestyle and avoid junk foods concentrated with fats and sugars. There are certain tips for healthy eating.

  1. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables
  2. Make fish and other seafood and integral part of your diet
  3. Cut down on saturated fats (having too much can increase the amount of cholesterol in the blood, which increases the chance of developing heart disease) and .
  4. Try to eat less salt as it can cause blood pressure and causes water retention in the body
  5. Drink plenty fo water
  6. And always start your day with a nice fulfilling breakfast.

A very helpful advice would be that when you assemble your plate for any meal make sure that you have the following proportions of different categories of food on it:

  1. Before you leave for lunch or dinner or even coffee ,just eat a small bag of unbuttered and unsalted popcorns so that you have the feeling of being full
  2. When you place an order make sure that you order some green leafy sald salad before your food and obviously one without mayo!
  3. When ordering the main dish, try to order something that is barbequed, grilled, steamed, boiled or lightly stir fried, so as to take the least amount of saturated fats as can be made possible
  4. Go for chicken without skin as the skin has a lot of oil and fat in it.
  5. If you are ordering bread with your main course, make sure its whole wheat, bran, etc.
  6. Try to order some fruit juice or diet drink rather than sugar loaded beverages.

The above are tips on how to order healthy food when you don’t have the luxury of preparing your own plate.But along with knowing what to eat ,one also needs to know “HOW to eat in a healthy way”:  

  1. Always chew your food well
  2. Eat slowly and enjoy each and every bite of your food
  3. Try giving the order of  dessert after giving a small gap once you have had your main course.
  4. A good idea would be to order a dessert rich in fresh fruits and nuts so that you avoid fatty cream and cheese to the max.Better so ,share your dessert with your friend so as to eat as lees as you can.

However your dream of having a healthy lifestyle that is full of “healthy food” can be a very distant dream if you don’t incorporate some sort of physical activity into you routine. If you are a busy professional and you don’t have have time to go fo an evening walk then waking up early and go for a morning walk be it 30minutes.If  that is not possible ,then buy some small piece of indoor machinery that you can put in your office room and exercise on. For those who can afford to take out sometime for some physical activity there is a lot to choice. You can go to the Gym, takeup yoga lessons, go for a jog  in your favorite park, workout at home ,takeup dance classes,etc.If you have the will you will find hundreds of way to change your dull and unhealthy lifestyle into a healthy one.
